We used to have a neighbor who came every day to take coals from us to light her stove. I once asked my grandmother why the neighbor did that.

She thinks that in this way she will take the property of the house and take it to hers.
“Why are you letting her take our property?” I asked anxiously.

My grandmother just waved her hand contemptuously and said,
“Life, my boy, you can’t lie to It with little tricks.”

She turned out to be right. These people never turned well.
