About Russian military operations
What is characteristic about Russian military operations is that they always contain an element of surprise. And this surprise applies to both sides – the Russian and the enemy’s one. The element of surprise is observed not only during the First and Second World Wars, but also in modern conditions. An example of this is the special operation of the Russian armed forces in Kosovo in June 1999. In the typical Russian style, the operation hid surprise for both sides – both the Russians, who with the forces of 200 paratroopers captured the “Slatina” airport near Pristina without any logistics provided / they did not have provisions for existence and ammunition /, as well as for NATO, who allowed to be surprised and overtaken. In fact, since June 12th, when the airport near Pristina was captured after an unprecedented fast march / in nearly 7.5 hours, nearly 600 km were travelled from Bosnia through Serbia to Kosovo /, until July 6th, when the first IL-76 landed carrying 30 paratroopers, weapons, ammunition and FOOD, it is not known how the Russian soldiers survived, who also effectively resisted the attempts of French and British forces to push them out of the airport. Only the Slavs can do that. A fact well worth knowing!
